Hello, I know it's weird after having posted that Terry is going to make a lecture and that Terry and Michael Palin are at the BFI Southbank together in June. I have another date for Python fans who might want to see just Michael Palin. I am not a stalker *haha*, i am simply a lucky person to find out these information... i hope that one of you might have time to see use them... 4 July 2008 - Michael Palin talks about how he first came across the work of Hammershøi, what it was about it that so impressed him, and how he and his colleagues from BBC Glasgow set about the tricky task of finding out more about the artist himself. In the Reynolds Room; 6.30-7.30pm; £14/£6* (includes lecture, exhibition entry & a drink), £10 (includes lecture & a drink) For information or to book: http://www.royalacademy.org.uk/events/lectures/discovering-hammershoi,473,EV.html And... the exhibition: Vilhelm Hammershøi: The Poetry of Silence Buy tickets online or telephone +44(0)870 8488484 The documentary of Michael Palin can be found as a torrent file online :) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Votes: 0 Tags: Michael Palin, Hammershoi ![]() christinah3000 just a quick info

Why couldnt all these events be happening next year when I am actually going to be in London. Ah well maybe something better will happen next year and I will get to catch it. I hope Terry does something cool next year like this that would be awesome! ![]() LadyLovelace Are you SURE

you aren't a stalker? Yes, oh, ok then, just checking, there's enough weirdos hanging about here (and I say that with all the love in the world) Oddly, I'd heard about the exhibition from a friend who is an art nut...said nut failed to mention the lecture or the documentary. We shall call you the "Keeper of the Holy Date Book" herein Yours etc., ![]() christinah3000 Well, my school - well, the

Well, my school - well, the branch at school i have attended the last four years was especially created for young people who later want to attend an art school in vienna or anywhere around the world. And, well i knew the paintings of Hammershoi and loved them always.. though I really have to say that he copied the style of my favourite painter, Vermeer. Anyway, i just wanted to have a look online if i could find out if there would be an exhibition somewhere and i found this one and then i read about Michael again and thought I might post it here. I think it's great that the Pythons are still so alive and do so much in the public - amazing people! And, about the Keeper of the Holy Date Book, i'd wish we would have a calendar where we could post dates.. that would be easier sharing the information such as meeting the Pythons. I live far away from London, but people who go there might be so nice as to later post a picture or a video of our great guys and that makes me happy as well :) Just a joke, i am now the happiest person on earth because i will be there as well, at least at one of the dates. *lol* ![]() LadyLovelace Lucky you

again, must be nice to be able to go to London, *sigh* hell, I could do with the holiday, Pythons or no Pythons. They still are everywhere, aren't they? The kind of people who actually may get use out of their frequent flyer miles. We do have a calendar.....but does anyone actually check it? *goes to check calendar* the problem with letting everyone update it is that the information might be incorrect (it's an attempt at quality control, methinks) I'll have to agree that they look a lot like Vermeer's work, but I suppose he was a pioneer of a new style (Dali was not the only surrealist), mind you, trust Michael to come up with a fairly obscure artist and make him a public sensation. Yours etc., ![]() christinah3000 Oh, yes i can agree to that,

Oh, yes i can agree to that, like Colin Firth with the Girl of the Pearl Earring movie - i mean some did know the book but we actually watched the film three times at school... it's lovely, the good thing about london is that you can easily travel from one place to another.. and i am very lucky to have found a very small cosy beautifully old hotel in belsize park, and it's always lovely to go back there, it's the first time in my life that i always stay at the same hotel. ![]() Hanri Comment viewing optionsSelect your preferred way to display the comments and click "Save settings" to activate your changes. |
