MashCast Tutorials

I started to think that there MUST be members and possibly new users around here, who have the ability, intrest and creativity (that sums up about everybody, yes of course!) to do animations with MashCast, or AT LEAST connect up on the application and chat with others there. But many may feel nervous about what is MashCast all about and how to use it.

So, I've decided to throw into this blog tutorials I have made using MashCast. Watch them, go to www.MashCast.com and download MashCast! Plus you can add me as a friend, so you can shout and ask for help in need or just say hi. :)

I highly recommend you start with the tutorial nr. 4, it explains the utter basics.

MontyPythonrocks18: UGh I wish i could use mashcast, but it doesnt work for Macs:( anyone know if they are going to make it work for macs anytime soon?

Hanri at 2:02 am September 15

Last time I heard they're working on it. It's not gonna be ready for any time SOON, but they're working on it. :)

TheRealGilliamFan: These seem like they will be very useful for me once I get the hang of it, but could someone point me toward the "for dummies" tutorial. I need to know the very very very basics.

I got as far as uploading images... well not entirely. I uploaded a background image just fine. Then I tried to upload a second image as a "characher" and it would not upload it. I assume that the images you wish to animate should be defined as "characers" - yes?

I tried uploading as a character, a photoshopped transparency... that is, an image where I removed the subject (character) from the background in photoshop. It would only upload as "auto."

I was able to paste that transparency on top of the background, but that's it. I'm trying to create a simple stop-motion affect where the character moves across the stage from left to right. Can someone clue me in? Thanks!

I meant "character."

You don't need to worry about as what you import pictures. Always go with "Auto", and you're fine. :)

And when you get to importing audio files of swf's, it usually is enough to just pic "Auto", the other options will only bring you a head ache.

I'm posting an image that might help (or confuse, if it doesn't make any sense to you, ask me again). Click it to make it bigger so you can read what the heck's going on. There I'm trying to explain two different ways to import a picture.

And if you see me online on MashCast, just ask if you need any help, I would be more than happy to jump in! :)

I most probably will do the same on the MC site. Getting them all together where they would be somewhat easy to find. :)

This is something that will look good on your resume.

You can take it on a stick or e-mail it, to show that you can teach other Staff computer applications and techniques, with a well-thought-out presentation.

Kudos!
