Tinned meat, massed produced, long shelf life, the old can could be used as
a camp stove (to either cook the spam or whatever else you put in it after the spam was gone)
The gelatenous goo that the spam is cooked in can actually be used as a temporary grease
substitute for weapons in harsh conditions..
