I just HAVE to have these lyrics in my blog !
I love this song. I was listening to Rutland Weekend Songbook yesterday before I went to sleep and was laughing my arse off:-)
I should pay more attention to Eric.

Once talked about (soccer) football at school and someone thought I was talking about (not with your feet) football I corrected them and started singing this song.

They just stared at me...
football is the game that we adore!

was over school football someone was trying to talk me into going to a game.

I don't really watch sports anymore
(one of those things I stopped doing... it's complicated)

I used to watch a bunch of sports and things with my dad though!
(he preferred American football and loved the vikings since he was from Minnesota)

so not many sports for Lemming lately
but when I was younger I played football (soccer) for a local team.
Again I stopped.

I'm not to good at sports anyway.
Mother had me stop for I almost broke my nose playing
(note to self my head + opponent's head = pain)
