What About Dick? Star-Studded Cast....!

With a cast comprised of
Billy Connoly,
Tim Curry,
Eric Idle,
Eddie Izzard,
Jane Leeves,
Emily Mortimer,
Jim Piddock,
Tracey Ullman, with Music by John Du Prez and Special Effects brilliantly executed by Tony Palermo it's easy to see that British comedy is more popular than ever.
Here's a chance to talk about who you has made their mark in the pages of comedic history.

arkennedy: I haven't heard about "What About Dick?" before but from the cast alone it sounds like it should be a good movie. I can't seem to find anything about it online though. Could you tell me more about it? Thanks in advance.

As far as people who have "made their mark in the pages of comedic history":
I'm definatly a fan of Billy Connoly http://www.billyconnolly.com/
Tim Curry http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Cinema/2636/
Eric Idle http://www.eric-idle.com/
Eddie Izzard http://www.eddieizzard.com/home.izz
and Tracey Ullman http://www.hwired.com/tullman/

In my opinion all of the people I just named have made their mark in comedy. I'm afraid I don't really know much about the others. I'm not saying they don't deserve a place in the history of comedy, I'm sure they do.

As far as Brittish comedians and/or actors are concerned I'm also a fan of:
Richard Briars, Peter Sallis, Frank Thornton, Felicity Kendal, Penelope Keith, Paul Eddington, Stephanie Cole, Patricia Routledge, and of course all the members of Python. Just to name a few.

Here's what I've come up with:

Eric Idle Workshops 'What About Dick?' with Izzard, Curry

"Eric Idle (Spamalot) will try-out his new play "What About Dick?" a Film for Radio, with music by John Du Prez, two feature two workshop performances at the Richardo Montalban Theatre on November 10 and 11.

The all-star cast includes Billy Connolly, Tim Curry, Eric Idle, Eddie Izzard, Jane Leeves, Emily Mortimer, Tony Palermo, Jim Piddock, John Du Prez, and Tracy Ullman.

In this work-in-progress from Grammy, Tony and Drama Desk Award winning author Eric Idle, a lowbrow comedy about highbrow people, eight actors are gathered together to perform a classic radio drama What About Dick? live on stage at the original Lux Radio Theater in 1948 (now the Ricardo Montalbán.)

There will be two try-out performances only of this work in progress, Saturday November 10 at 8PM and Sunday November 11 at 5PM, with all seats only $35. The www.goldstarevents.com pre-sale begins Monday, October 15 at 9AM

What about Dick? has been produced by WestBeth Entertainment, which has been producing, presenting and promoting entertainment events for 30 years and is the premiere promoters of UK comedy in the United States. In Los Angeles they currently promote Eddie Izzard's Coronet Theatre performances and presented Billy Connolly at The Brentwood Theatre.

The Ricardo Montalbán Theatre is located at 1615 Vine Street, Los Angeles."

In the article, "Monty Python's Eric Idle Tries Out His New Play. Be The First To See It!", member "Angela" says:

"Eric Idle's "What About Dick?" was the best entertainment I have been to all year. The cast was AMAZING-- hand picked and bursting with talent, there will never be such an array of perfect actors and actresses for these roles. The play was quick, witty, and jubilant-- if I missed a line of dialogue I could not ask my friend what it was for the next line was already being delivered, and you do not want to miss a single line of this play! I want desperately to have the script so I can start quoting Idle's perfect schemes on words, which I liken much to Shakespeare.

My only disappointment is in not knowing when I might be able to see this who again, for if I could have "hit repeat", I would still be watching and laughing harder every time!"

Hope this helped!

Oh, and I'd like to add Rowan Atkinson to the list of great British comedians.
