Deleted ?!?

Hello, I’m new here, having decided to join after having known LIFE OF BRIAN - which is simply a masterpiece.

As this is the very first post, I’d really like to point out a little mystery, which I’ve found (, looking for news about each Python.

“[…] In 2004 there was talk of a movie about Chapman's life, to be called GIN AND TONIC, by Hippofilms in cooperation with Jim Yoakum. Auditions were held in March 2004 in California, but it has been officially abandoned. Its website is no longer online and the Internet Movie Database page has been deleted; the Graham Chapman Archive’s website has disappeared as well.”

That just makes me think how possible could be “to erase” somebody. Just can’t believe it.

* * *

“Sia benedetto mille volte chi ti dà un po’ di felicità”, how blessed a thousand times the one who gives to you a little bit of happiness (Lucio Battisti, died of cancer in 1998).

The Ex-Leper: that makes me think of the book 1984 where if the govornment needs to get rid of somebody they "vaporize" them, meaning they take the person away in the middle of the night, no witnesses, kill him or her, and then erase all evidence that he or she ever existed and then everyone is so simple minded in the society that they all begin to believe the person never existed and that frightened me quite a lot when I read that book lol

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU! great book that one!

thewastelandr at 8:58 pm April 21

That book is incredible but SCARY!!! Especially for us in the USA right now... getting a little too familiar!

the_thina at 9:03 pm April 21

yes, its getting familiar here too. :( I have been meaning to read it again for quite a long time now, but... that is one of the reasons I havent.

thewastelandr at 9:07 pm April 21

Yeah... I know what you mean.

the_thina at 9:18 pm April 21

I actually took it out of the bookcase and looked at it like 3 days ago. then I rememberd that FRA is tracking our every move on internet here in sweden now, ruched to my pc and turned off vuze.
then back to the bookcase and took down a stephen king-book instaid

thewastelandr at 6:31 am April 22

Hahaha wow, yes that is terrifying! Here too it's getting to be like that, Patriot Act and more recent developments. SO SCARY!

Stephen King - yay!

the_thina at 12:11 pm April 22

yeah I know... the state is sitting spying on all of sweden, what we are doing on the internet. according to law they are allowed to hack our e-mails and all that. they say its for stopping terrorism and prevent crimes (bacuse YES if some one plans to murder our prime minister he will do it onlie?!) and limit illegal downloading.
but it dont feel like sweden 2010, more like soviet union or nazi-germany!

Yeah, our phone calls are being tapped by the government, because if someone were to plan another 9/11, they're gonna talk about it on the phone. But I choose not to worry about it, because I've got nothing to hide. So what if the fbi finds out that I love Monty Python or that I'm planning on having lunch with a friend?

the_thina at 4:10 pm April 22

I havent got much to hide either, exept for some downloading, but still I think that we are intiteld to privacy

thewastelandr at 7:08 pm April 22

YES - if we lose that we lose everything!

the_thina at 7:28 pm April 22

yeah exactly. so its not that I am doing stuff they can put me in jail for, I dont, but its the priciple of the whole thing.
and if I have a deep talk with a close friend online I dont want someone I never met to be earsdropping

thewastelandr at 7:50 pm April 22

Exactly - all about principle!

mrsCutout: Yes i have noticed that too and it is so frustrating! But i am so curious i would love to have seen it! You know it was because of LoB i became a pythonfan and i oly new graham...Welcome to Pythonline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holly: huh, that's odd. I would have loved to have seen it. Now I'm curious.

welcome to pythonline :)

Mrs Attila the Hun 93: Yeah, I've always wondered that. It would have been wonderful if they had made it though.
WHY ABANDON IT? WHAT REASON? And why did they delete the GC Archives too!?

And on a slightly different note, welcome to ze strange and wonderfully stupid world of Pylonline... erm, I mean, Pythonline!! xD Enjoy your stay.

the_thina: I never heard of that before. strange.
would love to see the movie getting DONE though, even if I allready know quite a lot about him. only truble is, who would play him? who would do him justice?

and welcome, I hope you will like it in here

Lvndr HppE at 1:16 pm April 20

It would have to be someone goodlooking. . . and British. . .Probably an unknown, because I cant think of anyone off the top of my head who can play him.

Lvndr HppE at 1:17 pm April 20

Or maybe Jude Law. If Jude Law didn't mind doing a few gay scenes. It definately would help his career.

thewastelandr at 1:18 pm April 20

He does kind of look like Graham... good call!

Lvndr HppE at 1:26 pm April 20

Thanks. Now, just gotta cast the other Pythons.

thewastelandr at 7:19 pm April 20

Hahaha yikes... that is a tough one. I don't know a lot of celebrities so I can't think of any off the top of my head. Joaquin Phoenix reminds me of Terry J, mostly cause of the dark eyes and such.

the_thina at 7:47 pm April 20

jim carrey can movie his body as john cleese. (good at fysical comedy that is) but he is getting a bit old now and he is not brittish.

thewastelandr at 8:49 pm April 20

Yeah I could see that.

the_thina at 9:02 pm April 20

yeah. this one kills me every time:
me and my ex has tried to do that "dance" many times but its harder than it looks

mrsCutout at 1:37 pm April 20

oh my you're right Jude Law looks a bit like Graham!

Lady April: Man that is bizarre. I guess I was out of the loop at the time caus eI don't remember hearing anything about that movie.
Welcome to P-line though =)
