Python/Harry Potter?

Well I'm new here, so this may have been done. But. It occurred to me the other day that Python and Potter would be a dream combination, since I think the movies take themselves far too seriously and could do with an injection of comedy. So if the (young) Pythons did Harry Potter, how would you cast it? I think Eric Idle as Hermione, for starters ... :-)

The Ex-Leper: oh, and John Cleese as Nearly Headless Nick. XD

I don't think he'd suit the role, I think the guy who played Nick in the movie was much better. LOL.

ahhh righto yeah that guy WAS pretty fantastic who was he anyways? :D

Just some random actor. Influenced by Cleese tho' I believe.

The Ex-Leper at 6:25 pm December 01

ahh well then no wonder he was so fantastic in those films then ;D

The Ex-Leper: I said it before I will say it again Terry Jones as Mrs. Weasley

Saw Potter 7 today & saw Molly standing at the sink - cracked up laughing cos of you guys making me imagine TJ!

mrsCutout: There used to be a thread like this one.Probably long gone now haha! But as I said again I'd love to see Jonesy as Moly Weasely! And Neville. Eric as Hermione is great!! Graham could be Lupin!! Mike as Harry and Jonesy again as Ron!

TheNicePython: Uhh, I like this thread... I'm a huge Python fan and a huge Harry Potter fan, and I really think that more Pythons should have starred in the films.. J.K. Rowling is a Python fan, and she actually wanted Terry Gilliam to direct one of the two first films, but Warner Brothers wanted a more familiy friendly director. I would have loved to see Terry Gilliam direct, at least for the visuel parts.. Jonesy however would probably have been the best to direct the cast..
Back on the track...
I could easily see:
Mike as Harry Potter(He really looks like HP in an episode of DNAYS..The same glasses), mr. Weasley, Remus Lupin, one of the Weasley twins, and Voldemort(I would love to see Mike as the bad guy)..
John as Hagrid(he's got the height), Snape, Ron, Dumbledore, Malfoy and of course Nearly Headless Nick.
Terry Jones as Molly Weasley(obviously!), Neville, McGonagall, Prof. Sprout, Dolores Umbridge and Percy Weasley
Eric as Hermione, Sirius Black, Xenophilius Lovegood, one of the Weasley twins and Ginny
Terry Gilliam as Mad-Eye Moody, Bellatrix, prof. Slughorn, Peter Pettigrew and Creature
Graham as Luna, Lucius Malfoy, Gilderoy Lockhart and prof. Quirrel..

she is a python-fan? that brilliant! and I can see some humor I really enjoy in at least the books. ron and the twins are extremely funny IMO. and yes, it would be great if gilly could have at least co-directed. but hey, bet she was thrilled to have john as nearly headless nick. :)
