A LIAR'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY - FIRST IMAGES RELEASED

New York, October 15th.

Visitors to Comic Con New York this weekend were the first members of the public to see images from the forthcoming Graham Chapman biopic,
'A Liar's Autobiography'. The 90 minute animated movie, based on
Graham's 1986 memoir, was previewed at a special session at the New
York fan convention. Directors Bill Jones, Ben Timlett and Jeff
Simpson showed a selection of sneak preview clips of the film, and were joined by some of the 15 animation companies who have worked on
the 3D project. Moderator Lloyd Kaufman, creator of the Troma cult
movie series, told the audience 'The Pythons were like The Beatles of comedy - a bunch of writer-performers who changed the rules and conquered the world. I for one stole all the ideas in my Troma movies from them. So it's very exciting to be able to see the first images from what looks like a fascinating project which will see Graham brought back to life, in a sense, and working alongside some of the other Pythons once more."

"A Liar's Autobiography" draws on recordings of the book which Graham made in the mid-80s. The tapes have enabled the directors to have Graham narrate the film, and to play himself at various stages of his
life. Other Pythons have recorded new dialogue for the film,
including John Cleese who plays himself and various university lecturers and Terry Gilliam who provides the voice of Graham's doctor.
Michael Palin plays Chapman senior, and Terry Jones voices Graham's mum. The film uses around 15 different styles of animation to represent different stages in Graham's life, as he moves through childhood and university, through the Python years, and has to deal with coming to terms with his sexuality and his alcoholism.

The film will be shown in the States on the EPIX HD channel, and will be released in cinemas in the UK by Trinity, in the Spring of 2012.
