Pythons, Dragons & Other Fallacies

Was Medieval England full of knights on horseback rescuing damsels in distress and were the Middle Ages mired in superstition and ignorance? Terry Jones, former Python and well known historican, will be presenting a lecture that promises to open our eyes to the Middle Ages as we’ve never seen them before - a vibrant society teeming with individuality, intrigue and innovation. With his distinctive and original perspective on history, Terry Jones will illustrate his lecture using the vivid stories and characters depicted in ancient wallpaintings found in historic churches. This event is organised by The Churches Conservation Trust, the national charity protecting historic churches at risk.
