question game

a new game maybe?

rules: ask a question, with a python-connection or not.
it can for example be "what is your favourite python-song?" OR "what is your favourite song?"
both are within the rules.

then the next person answers that question and asks a new one.

try to keep the newest ones on top, so DONT press the comment/reply-burron, just put your answer and question on top

ok. my first question is:

what is your favourite post-python movie with a python in it? (all gilliams movies are allowed even if there is not pythons in all of them)

katithepythonfan: Q: Have you ever heard someone you know quote Python and quite well actually without ever imagining to hear such quotes from that person?
A: Yes I have. Last semester I had Japanese lesson at the university at 8 in the morning. One morning we were chatting before the lesson and somebody mentioned that they don't like to eat fruits. I muttered sleepily to myself "fresh fruit not good enough for you" and was very suprised to hear the guy in front of me continue immediately: "I'll tell you something my lad. When you're walking home tonight and some great homicidal maniac comes after you with a bunch of loganberries, don't come crying to me..."

New question: If you could have had a minor role in any of Terry Gilliam's movies, which movie would you have chosen and why?

Hanri: Do you like cheese? If so, what's your favourite?

I LOVE CHEESE! My God! Any poor meal or wine I can imagine can always be saved with good cheese. Any cheese, to be precise. Usually we have the house packed with edam, good basic cheese. Love blue cheese (pun intended), white cheese, brie, mozzarella, huge fan of parmesan, gruyere, gouda, goat cheese, greek feta, smoked, peppered, garlic'd (since when is that a word?).......... No matter how runny or low fat you have, hand over la belle fromage qui s'appelle vad som hälst, s'il vous plaît! Favorite? Mmmaybe a Finnish blue cheese Aura. Or feta. Can't decide!

Next question: Have you ever heard someone you know quote Python and quite well actually without ever imagining to hear such quotes from that person? (meaning, from a completely unexpected person) What-who-when?

Mrs Attila the Hun 93: Mrs C's question: Have you read any Python book and if yes which is your favorite?

I've read MP Speaks, MP Autobiography, MP Live! and Brand New MP Paperbok. From them, my fave would have to be the autobiography, purely because of the amount of infomation from it. It's so jam packed with pictures and behind the scenes goodness that I can't put it down!

Erm, my question: Do you like cheese? If so, what's your favourite? (Sorry, couldn't think of anything :P)

mrsCutout: Has python influenced your life? If so, how?
Oh well well! If it weren't for python I don'r know where I would be today! I found out about them in a very difficult time for me and made me "look on the bright side of life"! Anyway I also had to start watching the news and learn what stuff like "syndicalist"or imperialism meant to keep up with what they said in the sketches! High level comedy! Plus I improved my English dramaticly thanks to my obsession with them! And let's not forget about the other artists I found out! Was it not for Pythons I'd never find out about peter Cook or Fry and laury and Spike Milligan and all these great names! So I was quite influenced by these silly people! Thank Bwian for that!!
My question: Have you read any Python book and if yes wich is your favorite?

a_nervous_wreck: Answer: My grandparent's house. Nana makes good pies and cookies

Question: Has python influenced your life? If so, how?

Mrs Attila the Hun 93: Do you believe in Astrology? Why or why not?

Personally, I don't believe it. I just think stuff like the horoscopes and all that are a load of nonsense. Nothing/nobody in this world is able to predict people's fates or personalities just by looking at a person's starsign in a certain period of which they were born. It's very silly ... but that's just me.

My question: Mmmmm, I know, what's your fave holiday destination?

arkennedy at 4:27 pm April 14

I agree with you about astrology.

Lvndr HppE: what is the most frightening thing you have experienced?
Oddly enough, I wasn't scared about the 9/11 attacks and not only do I live in NYC, I actually visited the twin towers a month before they fell. I just shrugged it off. The scariest thing for me was when I was in high school and I was in a car accident. My mom was upset about something while she was driving me to school on a rainy day. She was looking at me while she was yelling, and didn't notice the stalled car ahead of us. I did, though. Next thing she noticed, I had a terrified look on my face. She tried to put the break on, but because of the rain, the car slid and hit the car ahead of us. Strangely, the only car damage was when my head hit the windshield. Serves me not to wear my seatbelt. Wouldn't you know it, I still had to go to school that day.
Okay, my turn: Ummm. Do you believe in Astrology? Why or why not?

the_thina: gah! I wrote an answer as well, but that went away? ok, I try again.
yes, I have mike palins, terry gilliams, neil innes, richard obrien (rocky horror), dee snider (twisted sister), thåström (swedish punk-legend) and totta näslund (swedish blue-legend) tottas may be valubale now, since he passed away about 5 years ago, but Im not selling it!
they are all framed and Im at the moment trying to decide if I should hang them over my tv in the livingroom or somewhere in my bedroom, where the best honorable place is...

new question: what is the most frightening thing you have experienced (first hand that is, not like seeing the 9/11-attack on telly or something, even if that scared me when I saw it)

the_thina: new question: what is the most frightening thing you have experienced (first hand that is, not like seeing the 9/11-attack on telly or something, even if that scared me when I saw it)

Miioo: What did you want to be when you were little? - I wanted to be a veterinary or a stewardess, but now I'm studying to become an archaeologist.

Do you have any Python or non-python autograph(s)?

Lvndr HppE: The_Thina's question: Iif you had to live the life as a character in a musical, no turning back to your own life when things where heating up, what character in what musical would you choose and why?
No question, Debbie Reynold's character in Singing in the Rain. Or Cyd Charise's character in An American in Paris. As long as I'm romanced by Gene Kelly, I'm good. ;-)

Okay, my turn: What did you want to be when you were little?

the_thina: my fave beatles-song is not one fixed song wich remains the same, it all depends on what mood Im in at the moment. but today I feel Im in a georgie-mood, so either "blue jay way" or "here comes the sun"

if you had to live the life as a character in a musical, no turning back to your own life when things where heating up, what character in what musical would you choose and why?

Lvndr HppE: What is your favourite character played by a member of the Python team, either in or out of Python?

Gosh, I guess it would have to be any of the gumbys. Or is it gumbies? {shrugs}

Okay, since I'm watching a Beatles movie right now, and I know that a lot of Python fans are also Beatles fans. What's your favorite Beatles' song?

Here Comes Another One: Arkennedy's question: What is your favorite sketch/comedy show that doesn't or didn't star any pythons but either influenced or was influenced by Python?

Without a doubt, The Goon Show.

My question: What is your favourite character played by a member of the Python team, either in or out of Python?

arkennedy: Lvndr HppE's question: What is your favorite Gilliam film?

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen with Brazil as a close second.

My question: What is your favorite sketch/comedy show that doesn't or didn't star any pythons but either influenced or was influenced by Python?

BroMaynardG: I think I'd annex the Sudatenland!

Lvndr HppE: Hmmm. Of those, I like Rutland the best.

My question: What is your favorite Gilliam film?

Here Comes Another One: If you could go back to one of the writing sessions of python, and change something about a particular sketch, what would you change, and why?
I'd make it so the Martin Luther scene got into Meaning of Life. I love it! GC & TJ are so awesome in it!

My question: What's your favourite extra-Python TV show? I mean, shows with them in, like DNAYS, Complete & Utter History, IBOR, RWT, Fawlty Towers, Ripping Yarns, How To Irritate People, 1948 show - I THINK that's all.

a_nervous_wreck: Terry Gilliam. He seems so cuddly sometimes, and I could use his long, brown locks as a pillow

My question: If you could go back to one of the writing sessions of python, and change something about a particular sketch, what would you change, and why?

Lvndr HppE: If you were an accountant (chartered or otherwise) and wanted to change careers what career would you want to do instead?

I'd go into acting. Like Broadway singing. It was the first thing to came to mind, and being in Broadway isn't dull and boring.

If you could live on a deserted island with any of the Pythons for a week, which would you choose?

arkennedy: Here Comes Another One's question:

If you liked Python both as a child and as a teenager/adult, do you like different parts of it now?

I still like the ones I liked When I was a child and then a teenager. But now I like some sketches that I didn't like or understand as a child. For example now I like the Icelandic saga sketch but it wasn't a favorite of mine as a child. Another example of a sketch I didn't like as a child but like now is 'Julius Caesar' on an Aldis lamp.

My question: If you were an accountant (chartered or otherwise) and wanted to change careers what career would you want to do instead?
By the way, I'm guessing I don't have to specify which sketch gave me the idea for this question :)

Here Comes Another One: If you could see one of the Python sketches performed live for you by the young pythons, which one would you choose?

History of the Joke, I think. Or 'Basingstoke in Westphalia.'

My question: If you liked Python both as a child and as a teenager/adult, do you like different parts of it now?

a_nervous_wreck: Answer: The Ministry of Silly Walks, hands down

Question: If you could see one of the Python sketches performed live for you by the young pythons, which one would you choose?

arkennedy: katithepythonfan's question: If you (and your friends) would have a Python all-nighter (watching the Flying Circus and movies) what would you eat?

Fresh fruit, regardless to how dangerous it is :)

My question:

If some one had never seen Python before and wanted to watch one of the sketches online which sketch would you recommend for them to watch first?

katithepythonfan: Question: If you could spend the day with one of the python characters, who would you choose?
A: It would be one of the Bruces (or preferably all of them). Mayne the one who teaches classical philosophy...

New Question: If you (and your friends) would have a Python all-nighter (watching the Flying Circus and movies) what would you eat?

a_nervous_wreck: Answer: My first experience was taking a hike for a class trip in seventh grade. We were walking along, and someone shouted ALBATROSS when a seagull flew by. It wasn't until about a year later, that I finally got what he was talking about.

Question: If you could spend the day with one of the python characters, who would you choose? Yes, it can be one of Gil's animations aswell

Lvndr HppE: My favorite non-Python moment would be: John Cleese dancing around the living room while getting undressed and speaking Russian in A Fish Called Wanda.

Okay, my question: Where were you when you first experience Python for the first time?
Mine was when I was a child, and I walked in on my dad flicking through the channels when he stopped on the Black Knight Scene of the Holy Grail. It wasn't until about 10 years later that I realized that when I rented Holy Grail from Blockbuster.

Here Comes Another One: If you had all the money in the world to produce it, which song, tv show, story or already existing movie would you redo and produce as a musical on screen or on stage?

Pulp Fiction. That dead boring dialogue bit in the car could be a nice duet between John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson. Pumpkin and Honey Bunny could have a love theme with all the other diner guests dancing on the tables. Also, I could have the chorus coming out in frilly multicoloured tutus dancing and singing "Bring Out The Gimp" and "Zed's dead, baby."

My question: What's your favourite non-Python comedy moment?

l_wojcik: Answer to Lvndr HppE's question: YES! I've converted nearly a third of my senior class in high schol. And that was a very large class.
My question: If you had all the money in the world to produce it, which song, tv show, story or already existing movie would you redo and produce as a musical on screen or on stage? (This can be a fun one!)

Lvndr HppE: If you had to move to a desert island suddenly, and could only take one CD, one TV show DVD, one movie DVD, one book and one other item of your choice, what would your chosen items be?

The cd would be: Stephen Stills' self named cd.
The tv show would be: Monty Python's Flying Circus
The movie would be: Gone With The Wind
The book would be: Jane Eyre
And one other item: Hmmmmm. A cute guy. Maybe Johnny Depp.

Lvndr HppE at 12:47 pm January 26

Oops! I did it again. Question: Have you ever converted anyone to pythonism?

Lvndr HppE at 12:47 pm January 26

Meaning: Have you ever introduced someone to python, making them a fan.

Here Comes Another One: ANW's question:If you could marry a character from any book you wanted, who would you marry?

Sirius Black. Easy.

My question: If you had to move to a desert island suddenly, and could only take one CD, one TV show DVD, one movie DVD, one book and one other item of your choice, what would your chosen items be?

a_nervous_wreck: Answer: England or Scotland. The lands of my Forefathers!

Question:If you could marry a character from any book you wanted, who would you marry?

arkennedy: Inspector Tiger's question:

When you were little, what did you do when you had a cold, flu etc...?

I lied and said I there wasn't anything wrong because I hated the taste of most medicines especially cough medicine (I never did understand how or why anyone could get addicted to the stuff). Even when it was obvious to everyone else that I wasn't feeling well I still wouldn't admit it.

My question:
If you could visit anywhere in the world that you haven't been to but wanted to visit which place would you choose?

Inspector Tiger: Besides Python, what other comedians do you like?
The ones I can think of now is Steve Martin, Rowan atkinson. I like Martin in most of his roles, and same with Atkinson.
Oh, and Jim Carrey of course! Can't think of more right now...
Then there's some Norwegian ones called Åsleik Engmark and the comedy duo Bye and Rønning x)

Inspector Tiger at 6:58 pm January 25

Forgot the question!
When you were little, what did you do when you had a cold, flu etc...?

Lvndr HppE: If you could be the child of any Python you choose, who would it be?
I've often wondered this. I think I'd be happy to be any of their children. Maybe not Mike's. Its weird to drool over someone, and then think about being their child. o||O If I had to choose one python, it would be. . . The Great Gilly. I wanted to be an actress when I was a kid, and if my father was a world famous director, I could have been in one of his movies.

Lvndr HppE at 5:21 pm January 25

Oh, bugger. I forgot to put a question. Hmmm. Besides Python, what other comedians do you like?

a_nervous_wreck: Depends on who it was.
John- Go away you filthy English ci-median, I don't want to talk to you no more!
Mike- I've got nothing to tell you except name, rank, and you're so hot
Eric- Are you a goer? No what I mean, nudge nudge say no more?
Terry G- Come sit, in the Comfy Chair!
Terry J- Got any Crunchy Frogs?
Graham- Get back in the ground, this is far to silly!

My question. If you could be the child of any Python you choose, who would it be? Yes, you can have Gray adopt you

J.Gambolputty: Which is your favorite season of the year?

Autumn. At least the one in Finland.

My question: If your doorbell rang right now and behind the door would be a Python member, what would you do/say?

Lvndr HppE: for the fangirls/other appreciators out there - which Python has/had the best smile? that's easy! Michael. He has dimples! :-D
Okay, my question: Hmmm. Okay, due to lack on imagination, I'll ask an easy one. Which is your favorite season of the year?

Here Comes Another One: ANW's question: If you could go back to the eighties and save either John Lennon or Graham Chapman, who would you save, and why?

Well, that's a no-brainer. I'm not a Lennon fan and I'm a huge fan of Graham Chapman, so I would save him. Why? Well, I think John Cleese's speech at his memorial service says it all: he hadn't achieved many of the things of which he was capable, and he hadn't had enough fun. I expect the same was true of John Lennon, but I had to choose.

My question: for the fangirls/other appreciators out there - which Python has/had the best smile?

a_nervous_wreck: Answer: They are armed with a banana, and I defend myself by sending The Doctor after them.

Question: If you could go back to the eighties and save either John Lennon or Graham Chapman, who would you save, and why?

Lvndr HppE: Have you seen any strange or funny signs anywhere lately and if you have what did the sign say? -> I remember a few years ago, my mom and I had just finished shopping, when we noticed a sign that was sitting on a counter, getting ready to be thrown out which read "Aunt killer". I guess someone pointed out that while they may have meant to but "Ant", as in very small insect that can lift ten times it's weight, it looked like they were selling a product for killing certain female members of your family. Now that I'm an aunt, I'm very glad to know that product doesn't exist. ;-)

My question: Say you're walking down a dark alley when you're attacked by an assaillent armed with fresh fruit-because rotten fruit is much less deadly, due to it's squishyness. What fruit are they armed with, and how do you defend yourself?

arkennedy: Thina's Question: what was the latest really dumb thing you did?

First here's some background information: I have two cats and one of them (Toby) is germaphobic (I don't know if that's the real term or not) anytime anyone isn't feeling well he'll avoid them and he gets very upset if people cough or sneeze. In fact, it's become a habit for us in my house to say "Sorry Toby" after sneezing because he always looks so offended.

Anyway, on to the dumb thing I did. It became such a habit that While I was shopping the other day I sneezed and instead of saying "excuse me" or "I'm sorry" I said "Sorry Toby". Apparently the guy on the same aisle I was on was named Toby because he gave me the strangest look and said "Why should I care?"

My Question: Have you seen any strange or funny signs anywhere lately and if you have what did the sign say?

For example: I recently saw a hand written sign over a basket of gloves for sale that said "One Size Fits Al" which may have been more accurate than "One Size Fits All" because the gloves were too large for me but perhaps they did fit whoever "Al" was :)

Lvndr HppE at 7:43 pm January 24

That may very well be the funniest story I've heard that involved cats.

the_thina at 7:29 pm December 19

haha! oh, from having cats around me my whole life I know that offended look VERY WELL. they are so funny the little furr-balls! :)

the_thina: Who'd win in a fight between the Care Bears and the Gummi Bears?
haha, thats a very funny one. but I go for the gummi bears. they are cooler. or was for me as a kid, havent seen it in about 20 years.

my question: what was the latest really dumb thing you did? (I myself was sorting dirty clothes today and had a cup of tea in my hand, and in some strange reflex-thing I threw the cup on one of the piles, and I had to laugh, that inspired my question)
