question game

a new game maybe?

rules: ask a question, with a python-connection or not.
it can for example be "what is your favourite python-song?" OR "what is your favourite song?"
both are within the rules.

then the next person answers that question and asks a new one.

try to keep the newest ones on top, so DONT press the comment/reply-burron, just put your answer and question on top

ok. my first question is:

what is your favourite post-python movie with a python in it? (all gilliams movies are allowed even if there is not pythons in all of them)

I was thinking about that question a few days ago, when I was cleaning out a can of dog food. I was trying to get out some pieces that were stuck underneath the rim of can WITH MY FINGER! Guess what happened? If you guessed that I cut myself, you'd be correct. I knew better than that. Still, I thought "I really should write that on pythonline as something really dumb that I did.

arkennedy at 3:32 pm December 19

At least they weren't clean clothes

the_thina at 7:27 pm December 19

yeah, I was getting ready to go and wash them so no harm done. ;)

Here Comes Another One: Arkennedy's question: If you've seen either "At Last The 1948 Show" or "Do Not Adjust Your Set" what is your favorite sketch?

I've seen both. My favourite 1948 Show sketch is either the Accountant Dance or 'I am a gorilla.' My favourite DNAYS is either the HMS Concorde sketch or 'Hamster Allergies.'

My question: Who'd win in a fight between the Care Bears and the Gummi Bears?

Lvndr HppE at 7:46 pm January 24

That's my favorite 1948 show sketch, too!

arkennedy: Here Comes Another One's question: If you could own a poseable action figure of any Python character, what would you choose?

I'm probably going for the obvious one here, but for me it would have to be John Cleese's character from "The Silly Walk Sketch".

My question: If you've seen either "At Last The 1948 Show" or "Do Not Adjust Your Set" what is your favorite sketch?

Here Comes Another One: What's your favourite book & why?

My favourite book is 'Good Omens' by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman. Because it's bloody hilarious! Quite Pythonesque in places.

My question: If you could own a poseable action figure of any Python character, what would you choose?

the_thina: my first concert was a swedish band called sator (you can find them on youtube. "were right youre wrong" and "world" are the two best songs) and I was 12. I also met the singer/base-player and guitarist/singer. had a terrible crush on the guy with the base. ^^ and their music is still good, even if I just was a kid back then. ok, had to go and find this now just for that. mmmh. lovely http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTTgyNBdCRc

my question: whats your favorite book and why?

Lvndr HppE: If I could do or be anything, I'd be rich. :-P Well, you asked. But not terribly rich. Just rich enough that I'll have my own apartment in Manhattan, and be able to visit other places as well, and still live comfortably. Okay, my turn.
What was the first concert you saw? And how young were you?

TheRealGilliamFan: Q: What is your favorite television show that is not at all Python related?

A: Seinfeld reruns. Could watch them all day.

New Question: If you could do or be anything, what would it be?

arkennedy: Cardinal Ximenez's question: What is your favorite Michael Palin character (Python or otherwise)?

That's not an easy one to answer. However, after much thought I'm going to go with a character from Ripping Yarns: Major Errol Phipps from the Escape from Stalag Luft 112 B
episode.

My question:

What is your favorite television show that is not at all Python related?

By the way below are the links to the episode in case anyone isn't familiar with that character (or wants to watch the episode but doesn't have the dvd).

Cardinal Ximenez: Question: who'd be a) the best, and b) the worst Python character to be stuck on an island with?
-Ooh, that's a good one. I'd say (off the top of my head) best would be... idk... maybe one of the Bruces? They seem like they'd have survival skills:P
And worst would be maybe the Cheap-Laughs; they just seem awful to spend time with(even worse than the Equators :D I'd say). On the other hand one of Michael Palin's timid characters like Arthur Pewtey or the chartered accountant/wannabe lion tamer would be "unhelpful" in that situation :)

New question: What is your favorite Michael Palin character (Python or otherwise)?

Here Comes Another One: Out of everything Terry Jones has directed what is your favorite?

I think, and this is very tricky, that Erik the Viking just edges it.

My question: Inspired by arkennedy's last question - who'd be a) the best, and b) the worst Python character to be stuck on an island with?

arkennedy: TheRealGilliamFan's question:
If you were to spend one year (or more) stranded on an island (or some remote place) with one Python (and I mean like really stranded, fend for yourselves for food, etc) who would you pick as your survival buddy?

I 'd choose Michael because he's done a lot of traveling and I think he would probably know how to survive in such a situation.

My question:

I've asked a similar question about Terry Gilliam so now I think it Jonsey's turn.

Out of everything Terry Jones has directed what is your favorite?

TheRealGilliamFan: Q: if you knew one Python was gay, but you didn't know who, and you'd only seen Flying Circus & the films & knew nothing abt the Pythons beyond their performances, who might you think it was? Would it still be Chapman?

A: I would think Eric because he's often the best dressed in the bunch (I know that's sterotypical).

New Question: If you were to spend one year (or more) stranded on an island (or some remote place) with one Python (and I mean like really stranded, fend for yourselves for food, etc) who would you pick as your survival buddy?

Here Comes Another One at 6:13 am December 02

Yes, stereotypical but true. :-) I also would have said Eric, because he's so good at acting those effeminate roles, like Renaissance Man for example, or the poofy judge.

Here Comes Another One: If you could go on a relaxing weekend with a Python, who would you choose and what would you do together?

Depends on era. If it was now, I'd pick Michael Palin, and we'd go to Finland, & sing the Finland song to confuse Saturday night revellers.

On the other hand, if it was, say, 1975 ... nope, not telling. ;-D

My question: if you knew one Python was gay, but you didn't know who, and you'd only seen Flying Circus & the films & knew nothing abt the Pythons beyond their performances, who might you think it was? Would it still be Chapman?

katithepythonfan: Q: If you were going to put boot polish into Eric Idle's bed what would be your motive?

I would put it there so that I could help him to clean it...

New Q: If you could go on a relaxing weekend with a Python, who would you choose and what would you do together?

Here Comes Another One: What do you remember the best from year 1996?

In 1996 I was 13 & I changed schools. At the school I'd been before, juggling & playing with those diablo thingies were fashionable for some reason. At the new school everyone my age was trading Pogs, these little cardboard discs that fitted together & had pictures of different things on them. I never understood that craze.

If you were going to put boot polish into Eric Idle's bed (as he claimed the Bonzos had in DNAYS) what would be your motive?

arkennedy at 9:28 pm November 29

I turned 17 in 1996 and I never understood the pog craze either.

Here Comes Another One at 1:30 am December 02

:-) another sane person!

J.Gambolputty: Cardinal X's question: If you could travel back in time to any year in the past, what year would you visit?

Hmm.. It would possibly be a year between 1940-1950. I just would like to see how life was back then.

Next question: What do you remember the best from year 1996?

Cardinal Ximenez: Question: If you were drowning in the ocean, which of the Pythons (at their ages now) do you think would be the first to dive in and try to save you?

A: Well I'd like to think it would be Michael Palin because he's my favorite, but he really might because he's more known as the "nice" one. Although I also feel like it might be Gilliam, though I'm not sure why... :P

New question: If you could travel back in time to any year in the past, what year would you visit ; (sorry if this has already been asked) :/

TheRealGilliamFan: Q: Who do you think is/was the best actor of the Python group?

A: Best actor??? Hmmm it really depends on the situation. I think each is unique. Though I am always vacillating in my mind over who makes the best woman. It's bewteen Eric and Jonesy. And I really can't decide.

New Question: If you were drowning in the ocean, which of the Pythons (at their ages now) do you think would be the first to dive in and try to save you?

Here Comes Another One: What childhood TV show do you miss the most?

I've managed to catch a lot of them on YouTube lately, otherwise I would have said Knightmare or Aquila. But because I can't find it, I'd have to say Puddle Lane, because I never got to find out whether the Iron Boy and the Sandalwood Girl made it to the Silver River and became a real boy and girl! I don't know if any of you will know/remember what I'm talking about, but that's my answer. :-)

My question: Who do you think is/was the best actor of the Python group?

The Ex-Leper at 2:46 pm November 28

omg I have recently been watching a hoarde of shows from my childhood on Youtube as well this is incredible

Here Comes Another One at 4:35 pm November 28

Cool - that's the best thing about YouTube in my opinion! :-)

The Ex-Leper at 8:29 pm November 28

it is for me now hahaha I am in the middle of watching Power Rangers in Space and though that probably is the dorkiest thing I have EVER done that show and that show alone basically defined my childhood... with the help of Batman and Spiderman of course but that show... gosh hahaha

The Ex-Leper: arkennedy's wuestion: Awhile back I was doing a search for "Monty Python" images and I notcied that "Monty" seems to be a popular name for Pythons. Does anyone on Pythonline have a pet Python named "Monty" or know anyone who does or had one in the past?

well I once saw a show and there was an actual python on there that his owners had named Monty which I found incredible

My Question: What childhood TV show do you miss the most?

arkennedy: jgambolputty's question: What is your favourite non-python TV-series?

At the moment it's a tie between "The Big Bang Theory" and "White Collar"

My question: Awhile back I was doing a search for "Monty Python" images and I notcied that "Monty" seems to be a popular name for Pythons. Does anyone on Pythonline have a pet Python named "Monty" or know anyone who does or had one in the past?

J.Gambolputty: HCAO's question: What song are you listening to right now - or if you're not currently listening to music, what's your favourite song right now?

Well, since I am in pyhonline, I'm now listening Medical love song.

Q: What is your favourite non-python TV-series?

Here Comes Another One: Q: What Python fan product (t-shirts, books etc.) would you like to have? I'd like all the books, especially the ones from the '70s - but I'll settle for the Pythons Autobiography for now. It's on my 'to get' list.

Q. What song are you listening to right now - or if you're not currently listening to music, what's your favourite song right now?

katithepythonfan: Q: What is your laest favourite Mr. Gilliam film, and why?
I don't like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas... Probably because I'm not a great fan of drug movies...

Q: What Python fan product (t-shirts, books etc.) would you like to have?

genji: What was the last tv show you watched that had one of the Pythons as a guest star? (It doesn't have to be a new show but it can be).

Mr. Cleese was promoting his Alimony Tour on The One Show on Thursday. It's an early evening magazine show that I don't watch, but I got a text from a friend telling me he was on. Mr. Gilliam, Mr. Idle and Mr. Palin have all appeared on it in the last year or so.

What is your least favourite Mr. Gilliam film, and why?

arkennedy: Lvndr HppE's question: What is your favorite Gilliam movie?

It isn't an easy decision but I would have to say "The Adventures of Baron Munchhausen" is my favorite Gilliam movie.

My question: What was the last tv show you watched that had one of the Pythons as a guest star? (It doesn't have to be a new show but it can be).

Lvndr HppE: Why did you register in Pythonline, and what was your first impression about this site?
I actually visited the site a few times before I signed up. I decided to register, because I wanted to be a part of the discussions that were going on here. And I'm glad I did, because you're all such wonderful people to get to know. :-)

Okay, let me think of a question. . . What is your favorite Gilliam movie?

J.Gambolputty: question: if you could be in charge of those funny guys from the Foreign Secretary sketch (s2, 'It's A Living' ep), what person/persons would you have thrown into the water?

a: If you mean from all people on earth, at first my bleeding stupid and pompous grandparents(don't ask why..), then all the bloody politicians in Finland. Oh I really do hate them..! I hate the all bleeding parliament. Well, at least most of them, they don't know what they're doing, just pretending to know, and they're bloody useless too, just sitting 'round on their fat arses and talking about nothing. It's true. They do nothing important for us, believe me... Finland is a shit country. *thinks about not writing this*

The next question: Why did you register in Pythonline, and what was your first impression about this site? (what a futile question..)

Here Comes Another One: If you could spend the day with any of the characters from Monty Python's Flying Circus or the Monty Python Movies which character would you want to spend the day with?

The knight with the rubber chicken. I'd take him round to see certain TV presenters, & anyone who does that awkward little laugh that people do when they talk about money or their children.

My question: if you could be in charge of those funny guys from the Foreign Secretary sketch (s2, 'It's A Living' ep), what person/persons would you have thrown into the water?

arkennedy: J.Gambolputty's question: What is your favourite Python song that Michael Palin has written?

The Lumberjack song of course :) which I believe he wrote with Terry Jones.

My Question: If you could spend the day with any of the characters from Monty Python's Flying Circus or the Monty Python Movies which character would you want to spend the day with?

J.Gambolputty: Q: What would be your favourite Christmas present this year?
Michael Palin diaries and Hemingway's Chair.

Next question: What is your favourite Python song that Michael Palin has written?

katithepythonfan: Q: What is your favorite thing about being alive?
I think it must be the possibility of being in contact with other people...

New Question: What would be your favourite Christmas present this year?

Lvndr HppE: I don't know how many people outside of the US know about this show, but I think a Python version of Glee would be hilarious! http://www.hulu.com/watch/188956/glee-never-been-kissed A link to their latest video. Now, for the question.

What is your favorite thing about being alive?

Here Comes Another One at 9:57 pm November 10

That would be absolutely hilarious! Good one!

Here Comes Another One: Question: How much you have spend money on Python things? (books, DVD:s, etc..) Also things that are not really Pyhon connected, for example Mr Palin's diaries and each members' other works and movies.

Quite a lot. Six months ago I had series 2 of Flying Circus on DVD, then embarked on a HUGE Python phase & got series 1, 3 & 4, Holy Grail, L of B, Meaning of Life, Do Not Adjust Your Set, Ripping Yarns, Erik the Viking, Secret Policeman's Ball v1, Wind in the Willows, Hemingway's Chair, Liar's Autobiography, & Palin diaries v1! Luckily I got good Internet deals or I'd be completely broke!!!

Question: if the surviving Pythons were planning to collaborate on adapting a book into film, or reinterpreting an existing film, & it was up to you to choose what they'd do, what would it be?

J.Gambolputty: Q: if you could go back in time and live one "Python moment", what would it be?

A: Well, the first time I realized that in 1991 Michael Palin had visited the same city where I live, was absolutely amazing. I just couldn't stop shaking because of enthusiasm and smiling and repeating it to myself; he had been so near to me!!!! It was a fabulous and breathtaking moment.

Question: How much you have spend money on Python things? (books, DVD:s, etc..) Also things that are not really Pyhon connected, for example Mr Palin's diaries and each members' other works and movies.

katithepythonfan: Question: If you had a deep personal secret to share, and you were to (or had to) choose one Python to share it with, who would you choose? Who do you think would be most understanding and or least judgmental?

I think it would be Michael, because in all the interviews etc. people keep mentioning how nice and friendly he is.

Question: if you could go back in time and live one "Python moment", what would it be?

TheRealGilliamFan: Q: If you were stuck on a desert island with an ocarina, which Python would you choose to accompany you on bongos?

A: The most musical of Pythons, of course - Eric!

New Question: If you had a deep personal secret (something weird about yourself or a huge insecurity or whatever) to share, and you were to (or had to) choose one Python to share it with, who would you choose? Who do you think would be most understanding and or least judgmental? ... (or whatever your reason for choosing which Python)

Here Comes Another One: If you could write a book with one of the Pythons...

I'd do something historical with Terry J - I like his style, mixing humour with information. I don't know abt a specific topic though, maybe witch-hunting.

Question: if you were stuck on a desert island with an ocarina, which Python would you choose to accompany you on bongos?

katithepythonfan: Q:If you could spend a day with a Python, who would it be and what would you do and talk about with him (or her)?

It would definitely be Michael , and I would love to hear about his travels and all that television-work he has done during the years...

Question: If you could write a book with one of the Pythons, who would it be and what would be the topic?

J.Gambolputty: question: what is your dream-job and why?

Well, I've always wanted to be a vet. Because I've mainly grown with all kinds of animals, cows, horses, reindeer etc.. and there has always been dogs or cats or rabbits and everything in my family so I get very well along with them. I also want to save or at least help the suffering animals from their shitty owners who neglect their pets in horrible ways. I know it's a lot more than that, but it seems to be the most natural choice for me.

question: If you could spend a day with a Python, who would it be and what would you do and talk about with him (or her)?
