question game

a new game maybe?

rules: ask a question, with a python-connection or not.
it can for example be "what is your favourite python-song?" OR "what is your favourite song?"
both are within the rules.

then the next person answers that question and asks a new one.

try to keep the newest ones on top, so DONT press the comment/reply-burron, just put your answer and question on top

ok. my first question is:

what is your favourite post-python movie with a python in it? (all gilliams movies are allowed even if there is not pythons in all of them)

the_thina: If you could bring ANYONE back from "the dead", who would you and why?
graham chapman or john lennon. because they where both very clever, brave and funny men. and we really need more people like that. or possibly george harrison. even if he was the "quiet one" when he spoke he had intelligent and funny things to say. so anyone o those three, cant choose. + of corse or the selish reason that I love them all to bits.

question: what is your dream-job and why?

Sgt. Looney: What about the boy?
A: He will say nothing to no one.....

Question: If you could bring ANYONE back from "the dead", who would you and why?

Here Comes Another One: Which Python has the nicest bottom?

Well, unless you mean something other than what I think you mean, genji, you're quite right, there is one right answer, clear and unequivocal, but I doubt you & I would agree on what that is!

Question: What about the boy? (NB: I can think of two possible answers, and am interested to know whether anyone comes up with either, or something completely different!)

genji: Oops.

Do you see the humor in this sentence --- "I helped my Uncle Jack off a horse."

No. It's the capital letters. They put me off. If it was a spoken instead of a written sentence then perhaps I'd see something amusing in it.

Which Python has the nicest bottom? NB. There is a right answer and six or seven wrong answers to this.

TheRealGilliamFan: Q: What is your favorite movie that Gilliam directed?
A: Brazil, Time Bandits, Fear & Loathing, Tideland, Twelve Monkeys...

New Question: Do you see the humor in this sentence --- "I helped my Uncle Jack off a horse."

Lvndr HppE at 9:12 am November 03

lol! I get it! A bit dirty, though. Did you get that from The Love Guru?

genji at 12:28 pm October 31

arkennedy: Looks like my last question seems to have stopped the game, sorry about that. So let's ignore that one and try a different one.

What is your favorite movie that Gilliam directed?

arkennedy: genji's question: How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as it could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

My question:

Have you ever heard someone say one thing and hoped they meant something else? And if so what was it? For example when I was in college A guy in my class said he needed to buy more chloroform for his pool. I hoped he meant chlorine.

genji: what super hero-power would you want to have? you can only pick one

That would have to be the power of invisibility, like interesting person Mr Thomas Walters of West Hartlepool. I'm as tall as Mr. Cleese and I'd like to sometimes be able to fade into insignificance.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

the_thina: Which Python are you most like and why?
probobly graham. we are both gay. + his bithday was 7 days after mine, so were both capricorns. and he was a bit shy, like I am. sort of sitting around quiet just taking in whats happening around me. heavy nicotine-habbit (but in my case its not smoking, its sucking on these things that is called snus, sort of like chewing-tobaco you dont chew)

what super hero-power would you want to have? you can only pick one

arkennedy: Lvndr HppE's question: If you could work for any of the Pythons, which would you want to work for?

Terry Gilliam. I'd love to have the chance to be an assistant animator. I'd need to take some classes or practice more to improve my animations first though.

My question: Which Python are you most like and why?

Lvndr HppE: Would you fight Colin 'Bomber' Harris, if so, how would you defeat him?
See, the problem with this question is that you asked "would" I fight Colin "Bomber" Harris. I'd say no, because I'm a lover, not a fighter. But that's a boring answer. Okay, how would I defeat him if I had to fight him. . . . Let's see. Probably, just kick his legs from under him, tackle him to the ground, and sit on his back until the ref said I had won.
My turn again! If you could work for any of the Pythons, which would you want to work for? (For example: Be John's personal assistant, take photographs for Michael's next trip or simply get coffee for Gilliam)

Here Comes Another One: If you could be an extra...

I'd be in the Life of Brian Pilate+crowd scene because Palin & Chapman are awesome in it, & apparently TJ was hilarious trying to teach the extras to fall over & stuff.

My new question: would you fight Colin 'Bomber' Harris, if so, how would you defeat him?

TheRealGilliamFan: Q: If you could be totally invisible for 24 hours, what would you do?

A: Slip unnoticed into the homes of my favorite famous people (with invisibility comes the ability to travel at the speed of light) and watch them doing ordinary or mundane things, like brushing their teeth, eating breakfast... picking their nose haha ;)

New Question: If you could be an extra (or crew) in a Python film, which film and what specific scene? The point is, as an extra, you get to be there "watching" them film it.

Here Comes Another One: Reincarnation, if anything. But with exceptions, like, maybe there are ghosts which are people who haven't moved on - not incompatible with reincarnation. But even then I'm not sure about the full separation of mind from body *assumes pepperpot voice* I don't 'old with all that Cartesian dualism!

My question: if you could be totally invisible for 24 hours, what would you do? (I'd go to a Beach Boys concert & tie Mike Love's shoelaces together!)

the_thina: haha! good one! ^^

if you could time travel, what 3 places/times would you visit?
the 60s. about any place in the world really. maybe woodstock. ^^ and london in like 77-78 when the punk-movement began to happen... and then... last choise is tricky... very tricky.... hmmm.... oh, hollywood bowl when our boys was there! :)

ok, new question.
what do you think happens after death? (heaven/hell, become ghosts, nothing at all etc)

Here Comes Another One: What would you do if you had a 24-hrs sexchange?

Travel back in time & sleep with Graham Chapman!

My question: if you could time travel, what 3 places/times would you visit?

the_thina: I might have asked this question before, but if you could go back in time and stop any famous murder, which would it be?
you have asked it before but someone else answered then.
I would stop MDC to kill lennon. no doubt! because I think that we need him more now than ever before. he would just have turned 70 so he would have quite a good chanse to still be alive if he didnt get some nasty decease or get back on the heroin.

what would you do if you had a 24 hours-sexchange? (that is, if a man answers, if you were a woman for 24 hours and vice versa)

Lvndr HppE: aliens land on the earth and says they will blow the planet up in 24 hours the same day as you win 10.000 dollars. what do you do with the money? I don't know what I would do. Probably take my friends out for a couple of drinks. Or my friends, their friends, and people we meet on the street to get absolutely smashed. Yeah, that sounds pretty good.
Okay, my turn. Hmmmmmmm.
I might have asked this question before, but if you could go back in time and stop any famous murder, which would it be?

the_thina: starting with a Python (any Python), how long a chain of connected people can you make? (you need to explain each connection).
I have a circle! terry jones was in an episode of young ones, with rik mayall who was in drop dead fred, with that girl from gremlins, dont remember her name, who is married to kevin kline who was in a fish called wanda and firece creatures with... you guessed it, john and mike. :)

my question: aliens land on the earth and says they will blow the planet up in 24 hours the same day as you win 10.000 dollars. what do you do with the money? (bonus-points if you know from what movie that comes from)

Colonel Daughter at 11:08 am October 31

but which movie? Hitchiker's guide to the galaxy...?

Here Comes Another One: In which other comedy acts do you see the influence of Python?

Harry & Paul, Fry & Laurie, Little Britain, The Sketch Show, Armstrong & Miller, French & Saunders ... Let's face it, pretty much everyone!

Question: starting with a Python (any Python), how long a chain of connected people can you make? (you need to explain each connection).

genji: If you could spend one day inside one Python's brain, whose would it be? (You get to see everything from their point of view and see all their thoughts).

That would have to be Mr. Gilliam without any doubt. While the others may have slowed down, calmed down or died, Mr. Gilliam's imagination continues to be as vibrant and original as it ever was. It might not be the most relaxing day you spend, but it would surely be the most surprising.

Next question:

In which other comedy acts do you see the influence of Python?

arkennedy at 11:29 am October 25

Gilliam would be my choice as well. For one thing, if nothing else, I think it would be very interesting :)

TheRealGilliamFan: Q: why do you think it is that makes most python-fans also are very into beatles?

A: Because Monty Python are the Beatles of comedy.

New Question: If you could spend one day inside one Python's brain, whose would it be? (You get to see everything from their point of view and see all their thoughts).

the_thina: what non-Python related song/s reminds you of Python?
well, as I said in another thread there is this song by brecht called surabaya johnny where they say burma, and that makes me think of them. but since not everyone knows that song (its very famous here since a great band made it a BIG hit in the 80s) I can pick another one... "my generation" by the who! first of all, mr moon was friends with graham as we all know, but also since python shook up their own generation, the generation before them and every generation after. not as shocking now as then, but... yeah...

my question: why do you think it is that makes most python-fans also are very into beatles?

Here Comes Another One: J. Gambolputty's question: which episode of Flying Circus can you quote nearly entirely?

Answer: 4 of them: Deja Vu, The Cycling Tour, The Golden Age of Ballooning, and Light Entertainment War.

My question: what non-Python related song/s reminds you of Python?

J.Gambolputty: Lvndr HppE:s question: "Are there any family members or friends that you have turned on to Python?"
Well, my mom did already like Python, but I finally have got my sister to watch it too. She mainly likes the songs and movies, but also the Flying Circus.

Umm.. Which episode of the Flying Circus can you quote nearly entirely?

Lvndr HppE: RealGilliamFan's question: If you could meet one Python in person, what would be the ultimate scenario for that meeting.

Hmmm. The ultimate scenario would have to be . . . me with a camera, a python dvd and a sharpie marker so he could autograph the mentioned python dvd. And possibly a family member or friend to take the picture with the Python. I couldn't pick which Python I would want to meet the most, but if I meet any of the Pythons I would want to have the list above. I guess I answered the question. Okay, my turn. Lets see. . .

Are there any family members or friends that you have turned on to Python?

TheRealGilliamFan: mrsCutout's question:What was you first Python experience?

When I was a little kid, I remember an older cousin of mine had Monty Python sketches on cassette tapes. So I *heard* the Pythons and memorized Argument Clinic and Parrot sketch before I ever actually saw them.

My questions: If you could meet one Python in person (you can only meet one), what would be the ultimate scenario for that meeting.

mrsCutout: Mrs.AT"S Question:Sensible, Slightly Silly, Silly, or Very Silly Party?
Hmmm...I'd say Very Silly Party! Cause I am very silly! i enjoy a good silliness...and you can'gt survive nowadays without being silly!

My question:What was you first Python experience?

Mrs Attila the Hun 93: In your opinion which Python sketch is the strangest?

Golly, erm, well, there's just sooooo many, like Mr and Mrs Git, Salad Days, Queen Victoria Handicap, Silly Walks, Thripshaw's Disease, Interesting people, Confuse-A-Cat, The Free Repetition of Doubtful Words...

I'll have to go for the Silly Olympics. I mean, 1500 metres for the deaf, a Marathon for incontinents and to top it all a 3000 metre steeplechase for people who think they're chickens? C'mon, you can't deny that that isn't somewhat weird!

(When I saw the marathon for incontinents, I almost wet myself XD)

My question: Sensible, Slightly Silly, Silly, or Very Silly Party?

arkennedy: mrsCutout's question: What sort of things make you feel bad?

I don't like it when I do something and someone else takes the credit for it.
I'm also not a fan of people I trust gossiping behind my back either.

My question:

In your opinion which Python sketch is the strangest? (You can pick a sketch from their movies if you want to)

mrsCutout: Do you like holiday celebrations??.I realy love christmas cause we go to our village up in the mountains and it's snowing and we seat by the fireplace and watch movies etc i love it! But my favorite it's easter Always an excuse to watch Life of Brian and all the other movies hahaha you know and the whole atmosphere is nice! It's spring and coming and all that!
My question:What short of things make you feel bad? I am so embarassed when people make compliments about anything concerning me i realy don't knwo how to react haha and realy it's disgusting to learn that someone i trust is gossiping and talking about me behind my back!

Lady and Laird Candermine: Being on line too long when I have to do other things!!!!
... ... and biting my nails which when typing and biting makes for rather strange images..

Do you like holiday celebrations??.. not the time off from school or work but actual holiday celebrations...
me.. nothing sweeter than hearing Eric sing 'fuck christmas' ... and seeing terry's reference to only 363 more days til Christmas in the Parnassus film ...
... I never had happy Christmas' .. I'm sure they could have been worse but they weren't happy... I only get depressed around holidays...

the_thina: what is your name and why were you given that name?
thina elvine kyra hederestedt
thina after tina turner
elvine after my mother
kyra I changed in my teens, before it was carola witch also is the name of swedens most scary celeb (that became famous 2 years after I was born, so Im not named after her)
hederstedt was the "normal swedish name" my great grandad took when he came from germany. only that its my family and 2 more that have that name, so its not "normal" haha

what is your worst habbit?
mine are nicotine, biting my nails and cracking my joins (mostly in my fingers and feet)

MontyPythonrocks18: I would live in the 50s or 60s, back when music was actually good, and maybe the 70s to so I can hang out with the boys in the show LOL
my question. what is your name and why were you given that name?

arkennedy: sit-on-my-face's question: What's your favorite dessert? Red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting here's a recipe for it: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sara-moulton/southern-red-velvet-cake...

My question: If you could live in any time period, what time period would you choose to live in and why?

sit-on-my-face: Day dream? I sometimes dream that I do theater with the boys, that we're all best friends... or being on SNL. But those are career dreams. Otherwise it's breaking the window to fly up until I get to the sea to swim with weird abyssal creature. Dance around with an octopus and a melanocetus. get drifted away by a bunch of shrimps. Get kissed by a giant squid. Those are also nice thoughts before going to sleep.

What's your favorite dessert? Mine is the "éclair au café".

Hanri: Imaginarim and Brazil are in a tug of war on this one. And Tideland is breathing down the neck.... I think I'll go with Brazil. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Wh2b1eZFUM In all its absurdity and and interlaced dream sequences. And the song. It summarizes the lot.

Hanri at 11:48 am May 17

OOOPS! New to the game, forgot the question!
What is your wierdest day dream, Python or non-Python related?

Lvndr HppE: Age is in the eye of the beholder. I thought 27-28 was old when I was 19. Now, I feel that 80 is old. But I'm sure when I reach 80, I'll think 100 is old.
Okay, favorite non-Python, Gilliam movie? Mine is Imaginarium.

the_thina: What's your favorite Nick at Night ... Old television show?
not sure if "nick at night" means... but if it means just old television show makes me think "prisoner cell-block H"
this lady was the BEST! I wanna be as cool as her when I get that old: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i4M2hrQrp8

at what age do you think a person officially is old?
we have been talking about that in here, about if our python-boys are old, and I honostly dont think any of them are. I think that when you hit 90-95, then you are old. our boys are just... boys! :)

Lady and Laird Candermine at 10:31 am May 17

nick at night is a US television show/channel that plays old television shows...
never heard of the that prison show... new show ... oh boy.. oh boy...
I agree with you about age... watching people grow old around me ... you are as old as you feel and act for one but old age does start at around 90 to 95 .....but by the time you get that age Thina... old age will start at 115 to 120 ...
I tell folks who call themselves old at 50 that if you live to be 100 you will be old HALF your life and that sucks... a?

Lady and Laird Candermine: Well.... once again I belong to the Proust Competition class of morons...
How about another question, then...
What's your favorite Nick at Night ... Old television show?
Ours is the Addams Family.
(tried to load a photo and it didn't work)

Lvndr HppE at 11:37 am May 17

I haven't watched much Nick at Nite since they started updating their shows. Now, they play stuff from when I was a kid, and that just makes me feel old. :-P But I loved when they played the Mary Tyler Moore show.

Lady and Laird Candermine: I can't follow directions worth crap... but I try to play fair... always..

The first Gilliam film I saw was, 'Brazil' ...

Here's one for the Dalai Lama and Buddist scholars and one to just annoy eveyone ....
Is non attachment (enlightenment) what psychology might call... denial?
my answer is ... I could care less ..
no....
actually, I don't know really... just don't know... mystery that.

arkennedy: Thina's question: do you believe that people are BORN good or evil, or if it has to do with environment?
I think it mostly has to do with environment with a few exceptions.

My question: What was the first non-python Gilliam directed movie you can remember seeing? For me it was Baron Munchhausen.

Lady and Laird Candermine at 9:38 am May 14

I agree with you arkennedy... it is mostly environment ... excluding the 2 to 3 percent who are sociopathic by nature.. and even they under the right environment can be controlled ...
