Seeking info: not Northern Playwright

I recall a sketch about a poet whose son wants to be a coal miner. He comes into the house saying, "Quelle journee, ma femme!" Same premise as the "Northern Playwright" but not the same script. Am I conflating two sketches? Thanks for your help. -Diane, U.S.

Kubrick: Perhaps you're thinking of a bit that appeared on Palin and Jones' Ripping Yarns (The Testing of Eric Olthwaite)? In it his father pretends to only speak French to avoid speaking to his son, but does so in a thick Yorkshire accent.

Shot in the dark.
