if you dont allready know of them, I strongly suggest you to look into the works of rik mayall and adrian edmondson.
they started out in the eary 80s with a show called the young ones (were none other than terry jones was in one episode) and have been at it ever since.
they were my introduction to brittish comedy and I love them.
and no secret that they are BIGTIME python-fans themselfs.
