Former Python gets Medieval in Peterborough!
The 2010 Peterborough Festival is pleased to welcome a prestigious speaker to
this year's event. Historian, broadcaster, author, film director and member
of the Monty Python team Terry Jones will be giving a talk on 'Medieval
Lives' based on his television series and bestselling book. The talk takes
place on Saturday 3 July at 7.30pm as part of the Peterborough Heritage
Festival Weekend. Tickets are available from the Key Theatre Box Office.
Terry Jones will present a light hearted and informative talk exploring the
truth behind our medieval past and challenging some popular misconceptions
behind this fascinating period. As Terry himself says "Not everything we
think is true about the Middle Ages is true, in fact a lot of what we think
Medieval life was like is codswallop..." After the talk Terry will be doing a
book signing, kindly supported by Waterstones. Light refreshments will also
be available.
Stuart Orme, Historic Interpretation Manager for Vivacity, the new
Peterborough Cultural and Leisure Trust said 'We're delighted to be able to
welcome Terry Jones to Peterborough as part of the exciting programme for the
2010 Peterborough Festival. I have no doubt that Terry will provide a
fascinating, fun and thought provoking evening of history and entertainment,
at what I am sure will be a very popular event.'
Terry Jones' talk 'Medieval Lives' takes place on Saturday 3 July at 7.30pm
at St John's Church, Church Street, Peterborough. Admission is by ticket
only, with tickets costing £15 for adults, £13 concessions (children,
