How to create a Forum topic

What is a Forum topic?

A Forum topic is a threaded discussion, enabling users to communicate about a particular topic that is of interest to the whole community(“Why concerts are great”). A blog, on the other hand,  is usually about a user’s personal experiences(“My first concert”). It's easy to do, and a lot of fun!

To create a Forum topic:

    1. Go to the My Menu block on the top left of the page*

    2. click on create content link

    3. click on the forum topic link in the list  that appears or click on the forum topic link in center  of the page

    4. Type the title or subject of your forum topic the Title field.

    5. Select the forum you want to place your topic in from the Forums: dropdown

    6. Type or paste your forum topic entry into the Body field. Click More information about formatting options to find out about using HTML tags to customize your blog entry. You can add external images using the<img src> (link)HTML tag and embed videos using the appropriate HTML tags.

    7. If you want to attach a file(you can attach files with the following extensions:jpg,jpeg, gif, png, txt, html, doc, xls, pdf, ppt, pps), select it by using the Browse  button  in the Attachments section of the form or type its path(such as C:\mydocs\pics\me.jpg) and pressing the Attach button.

    8. Press Preview to see how your blog will appear before actually posting it. If you need to you can edit your entry before posting, or if its ready to go, press Submit to post it.

    9. You can use the URL path settings field to specify an alternate path for users  to find your content. This is an option, and is not required.

    10. The optional** Voting link allows you to  choose whether readers can vote on and rank your blog. You can choose to enable or disable voting by clicking on the  Enabled or Disabled radio button

*If you are not registered or not logged in, the User login block will be in this area. Once you are registered and logged in, the My Menu block will be on the top left of your page. CLICK HERE to create a new account.

**Some  optional features such as voting may not be available on your site or only for certain content or users. Contact your Channel Administrator at help@mashcast.net.
