Liar's Autobiography

Graham Chapman's remarkable life story has been given the big screen treatment with the upcoming cinema release of A Liar’s Autobiography – The Untrue Story Of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman. Written by and starring Chapman himself, A Liar’s Autobiography is a 3D animated feature, based on his book of the same name.

Although Chapman selfishly dropped dead in 1989, he had taken the trouble to record himself reading his book, A Liar's Autobiography – and it’s these original recordings that have now ingeniously been used to provide Chapman's voice, with 14 animation companies and 17 different animation styles bringing Graham back to life in stereoscopic 3D.

As can be seen in this exclusive film trailer, A Liar’s Autobiography is neither a documentary, nor a Monty Python film; rather it is Chapman's own take on his bizarre life and his search for self-knowledge. Incredible, yes. Surreal, certainly. True? Who knows? The film re-unites Chapman with fellow Pythons, Cleese, Jones, Palin, and Gilliam for the first time in 23 years, playing themselves and other characters from his memoirs.

EPIX and Brainstorm Media present, in association with Trinity, A Liar’s Autobiography – The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman.

A Liar’s Autobiography receives its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on 8th September and will premiere on EPIX and in select U.S. theatres on November 2, and will be released in the UK, by Trinity in early 2013
